Editorial Standards

MyLoanCalcs.com is committed to publishing accurate, unbiased, and useful information about mortgages, loans, and personal finance. This page explains how we produce our content, what sources we use, and how we handle corrections.

Our Editorial Mission

Our mission is to give homebuyers and homeowners the tools and plain-English explanations they need to understand their loan numbers without consulting a professional for every basic question. We believe financial education should be accessible, accurate, and free from conflicts of interest. We do not accept payment to produce or promote specific products, lenders, or services. Advertising (Google AdSense) is served automatically and has no influence over our editorial content.

Approved Sources

All financial figures on this site are sourced from official government agencies and GSE publications. Our approved sources include: Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) for weekly rate data; the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Weekly Applications Survey; Federal Reserve FOMC statements and minutes; the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) for conforming loan limits and house price data; Fannie Mae Economic and Housing Research forecasts; FHA and HUD for FHA loan limits and program updates; the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for VA loan parameters; and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for regulatory thresholds and consumer finance guidance.

Formula Verification

All calculator formulas are verified against the standard amortization formula published by the CFPB: M = P[r(1+r)^n] / [(1+r)^n - 1]. Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser -- no data is transmitted to or stored on our servers. Results are estimates based on standard mathematical methods; actual lender-quoted amounts will vary.

Corrections Policy

If you believe any content contains a factual error or outdated information, contact us at [email protected] with a description of the issue and, where applicable, a link to a primary source. We will review the concern and correct confirmed errors promptly, noting the correction date in the article. Time-sensitive content is published within 24 to 48 hours of official data releases. Educational guides are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
